
About the Grand Hall
We will be dancing in the Masonic Temple ballroom at 125 West High Street. This
is an old historic building with a very large dance floor made of edge mounted sprung
wood. It is a true pleasure to dance on such a superb surface while communing with
your new-
The hall’s lighting is of a very pleasant and pleasing nature. There is seating in adjacent alcoves on both sides of the ballroom providing a good view of all of the dance floor activities. From here you may relax while viewing the graceful swirls of the ornately costumed couples.
It is recommended that you wear leather soled shoes, or a dance slipper similar to
a Capesio Jazz shoe. While wood does slip better than marble, this surface will
tend to grip a rubber-
We have assembled a lovely quintet, including a harp, to provide the most excellent music for your dancing pleasure. As you will note on the Dance List, there will be four to five dances per hour, each with a walk through and full prompting.
As has been mentioned previously, there will be no teaching during the ball, so it is recommended that you attend the three hour afternoon instruction session. Just take a close look at the Dance List to determine if you want a refresher for dances that you may not have preformed for some time.
